I had the same problem (broke college student, wanting to get into home recording to do some simple things for the time being), and I'm also using a 13' Macbook Pro. Hey man, I think I might be able to help you out. I went to local Apple Store and ask the staff there and they told me to use USB connection but asking further it seems that they also lack of knowledge about this matter.

I either need to sacrifice the input for an output or vice versa. I can't find any adaptor to work with this. Sometimes I'll use these setup to perform live using my guitar and it works very well.īut in this new Macbook Pro 13', there's only 1 audio output and input jack. I am still a student hence I can't afford expensive hardware.ĭuring the time when I use Cubase on Windows, I just plug everything in into the 3.5mm mic input jack (using the most simple adaptor) and monitor everything using the audio output jack. I can't say it's a 'home recording studio' because I might bring these on the go.
